On July 24 the San Antonio Bar Association is excited to welcome Judge Xavier Rodriguez to our annual luncheon!

Hon. Xavier Rodriguez is an Article III federal judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He joined the court in 2003 after being nominated by President George W. Bush. Rodriguez was a private practice attorney in Texas from 1987 to 2002 and again from 2002 to 2003. Rodriguez was appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to Justice of the Texas Supreme Court from 2001 to 2002 before being nominated to the Federal Bench.
A San Antonio native, Rodriguez graduated from Harvard University with his bachelor’s degree in 1983 and received his J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1987. Rodriguez earned a Master’s of Public Affairs degree from the Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs in 1987. He is past chair of the State Bar of Texas Labor and Employment Council and Chair of the State Bar Paralegal Committee. Rodriguez has served on numerous state and community boards, including the State Board for Educator Certification, Texas Lutheran University Board of Regents, South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, San Antonio Area Foundation, the Alamo Area Boy Scouts Council, and Respite Care of San Antonio. He served in the United States Army Reserve as an officer from 1983 to 1993 after receiving his commission from the ROTC program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The annual luncheon will take place at the Plaza Club, located on the 21st floor of the Frost Bank building. The cost to attend is $25 for members of the San Antonio Bar Association and Plaza Club members, and $30 for nonmembers. As always, space will be limited, so please register early!
