Juvenile Law Seminar, Oct. 25, 2013
The San Antonio Bar Association is pleased to announce its second annual Juvenile Law CLE, scheduled for October 25, 2013. The seminar, chaired by 386th District Court Judge Parker, will take place in the Central Jury Room of the Cadena-Reeves Justice Center (300 Dolorosa). Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the seminar will get started at 9 a.m.
The course will cover topics spanning a wide range of practice skills, including: Juvenile Law-Legislative Update, Ethical Implications of Recent Juvenile Cases, Crossover Youth Court & the Ethics of Dual Representation, Pre-Adjudication Drug Court, Preservation of Error, Sealing of Records-Ethical Considerations, Preparing Your Case-Meeting and Dealing with Prosecutors and Probation, Ethical Considerations when Representing Juveniles Charged with Sex Offenses and Certification & Transfer Hearings.
The course has been approved for 6.0 participatory hours (including 3.0 hours of ethics) of CLE credit by the State Bar of Texas. The course has also been approved by the TJJD for 6.0 hours of CEU credits. Credit for attendance may be utilized toward misdemeanor/felony appointments. (6.0 hours criminal), as well as toward continuing legal education requirements for the certification and recertification of attorneys in Juvenile Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
