Law Week 2017 is filled with community activities, volunteer outreach to more than 4,500 citizens and students and its annual capstone, the May 3 Luncheon & Award Ceremony.

Elementary Reading Program  NEW!

Northside ISD 

Volunteer attorneys read to NISD elementary school students and then present the book to the school's library. Limited spots available.

Color of Justice

TX A&M-San Antonio

Panel presentations by attorneys and jurists to high school and college students interested in legal careers.  Organized by the National Association of Women Judges. Attorneys from underrepresented backgrounds, including socioeconomic, are encouraged to mentor.


May 1-4

Jury Appreciation

Cadena-Reeves Justice Center

Members of the San Antonio legal community distribute pocket copies of the US Constitution to member of the Bexar County Jury pool. Sign up to volunteer for a morning shift to greet prospective jurors and thank them for their civic service!

Luncheon & Awards

Briscoe Western Art Museum

The keynote presentation, Transforming American Democracy, commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Fourteenth Amendment. Through its Citizenship, Due Process and Equal Protection clauses, this transformative amendment advanced the rights of all Americans. It serves as the cornerstone of landmark civil rights legislation and is the foundation for numerous federal court decisions protecting fundamental rights. The Honorable Henry Cisneros & Rosie Castro recount the history of the civil rights movement in San Antonio from a landmark Supreme Court decision to more modern day applications.
